How do I know if my power port on Apple IBook G4 is working properly or not?
My power adapter prong short circuited and become stuck in the power port. I removed the prong and bought a new power adapter. It's the correct power adapter, but my Notebook will not turn on, there are no lights or sound when I plug in the new power adapter to the power port.
Can power port be replaced? How expensive would it be? And how difficult?
Is there a keyboard button that coresponds to the power function, besides the main power button, that is not on the keyboard?

If I am not mistaken, there is an LED ring around the tip of the power adapter that plugs into the iBook. If this ring does not light up green or amber, than the power adapter is probably not funcitoning properly. The power port might have been damaged. You should probably have it looked at...hope this helps and good luck!
