Sound doesn't work on Dell Dimmension 2400?
One day the sound on my computer just stopped working. I plugged in headphones but those didn't work either. I tried the speakers in another computer and they worked fine. The sound icon in the bottom right corner is gone.. how can I get sound to work again?
Go to the Dell web site in the support area and download the latest drivers for your computer. Dell has a program on the site that will id the exact hardware you are using and direct you to the correct drivers.
Once you install the drivers and reboot, your sound should work, unless there is a physical problem with the sound card.
