Most likely you'll find it's a dial-up modem. Check under "Communications" or "Network". There's also the possibility that it isn't a Dell driver you're looking for at all. If the modem has ever been replaced (or if it didn't come in the machine originally) you'll need to look elsewhere. On the modem manufacturer's website for instance.
To find the modem brand / model you'll have to look inside the computer. If you aren't familiar with that sort of thing or are concerned about hurting the machine then I'd suggest having a reputable computer service tech. look it over for you.
How to Replace a Dell Inspiron 6000 Laptop LCD
If the display on the Dell Inspiron 6000 laptop is broken or blown, you can perform a fairly easy procedure to replace it. Depending on which part of the display has failed, the degree of simplicity varie a little. If the outside of the display has been destroyed, you'll just replace the entire assembly, which takes about 30 minutes; however, if it's only the screen, you'll have to remove it from the assembly, which adds 10 or 15 minutes of turning screws and pulling at cables. Shut down the system and disconnect the power cord.
Strip the computer of all the peripheral components that are connected to it, including cables and removable media devices.
Remove the battery from the base of the computer.

Lift the keyboard so you can access the flat cable that runs into the motherboard.
