after reinstalling winxp my dvd drive is not reading any discs but my cd drive is working just fine.?

you're probably missing the driver. look for it in the cd's that came with your computer. or you can just look for "free computer drivers" on yahoo search and find a site that offers drivers. you can get one to make your dvd drive work there. I think that is most likely the problem
