Generic ink cartridges, now printer wont print?

I just purchased some generic ink cartridges for my printer, put them all in and now the printer wont print properly, i've cleaned the heads and doe several nozzle checks but all i'm getting is a faint blue print. It said on the instructions that when they were installed that the "system will mention that they are not genuine" which it didn't. and that i was supposed to check "no" so the system recognises the chip. I didn't get the option to do that. It's an epson rx510 (hope i can say that?)
I am very desperately trying to print some labels and i can't!!!!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!
I just asked the seller, (bought them on ebay) and he said that if i take them into a cartridge refilling store that they can reset the chip and it will work fine?? Shame that wasn't in the item description.
Yikes! Dump that Epson and buy a Canon. Epson inkjet printers suck! Their printheads clog up sooooo... easily. I've owned several Epson inkjets by the way.
Inkjet printers are so cheap these days. For the price of a new ink cartridge you can buy a new printer.
Why Canon? All Canon (new models) inkjet printers have a new printhead on each cartridge. So you never get a clogged printhead! It's always new with every replacement.
You can refill Canon ink cartridges too because anyway if something goes wrong with your refill you can just buy a new cartridge. No harm done. The money you save by refilling can buy you a new printer in just a few refills!
