I am looking to donate a full set of kitchen cabinets in excellent shape to Habitat for Humanity. Do they provide a receipt or anything for tax reasons? How is value determined?

Your kitchen may be the heart of your restaurant, but your point of sale system is the brain. A modern point of sale system is more than a cash register and credit card machine. It can track your inventory, help you set your prices, provide information for your chefs and servers about food availability and calculate your bottom line. Some of the newer point of sale systems can even set up your purchase orders based on your current inventory.
Purchasing a point of sale system for your new restaurant is a big decision, but the decision should not hinge on whether or not your food vendor carries the supplies that you need for it. Why not just purchase your POS supplies from a food vendor?

By contrast, a business whose only business is to provide you with high quality paper supplies for your point of service equipment can provide you with a full range of tapes, rolls and pads. The customer service reps will be able to make recommendations for the best supplies based on their knowledge of the POS equipment that you use and the type of business that you run.
When you compare the cost of purchasing your point of sale supplies – credit card receipts and tapes, carbonless paper rolls, guest checks and more – from an online vendor with the cost of purchasing those same supplies from your food service vendor, you will see the savings to your company. Take the time to make the comparison and lower your bottom line.
