I need help configuring a Linksys BEFW11S4 as a gateway with a Netgear WPN824 as an wireless access point!?
I have a Linksys BEFW11S4 wireless router I want to use only as a router and use a Netgear WPN824 as a wireless access point. Do I need to use a crossover cable to hook the two together? I turned off the DHCP on the access point.

since router1 is running off the modem, you need the switch to make the connection for router2 to router1 - - - then you get to set up the network...static on router2 since its an access point. looks like you've already turned off dhcp.
gigabit switch only!! dont rob yourself --i work for an ISP and we are about to release 50mbp/s --- im currently running 25mbp/s with a motorola 6120 modem and using a dlink gigabit switch with two access points. good luck
What is 192.168.1.1 exactly?
This IP 192.168.1.1 is the default Internet Protocol (IP) address for most of the home broadband routers.
