How do you change the language on a MFC-5440CN Brother Printer?
I have a little trouble with my printer; on the normal printing options it's okay, but when you go on advanced options it turns into German. All the help things are in German and the trouble shooting is no good. Please can you give me a step-by-step guide to change the language back to English?!

Brother Mfc-8480Dn – Mfc With Front Usb Port
When a piece of hardware is the third generation in a line of similar models, such as the Brother MFC-8480DN, many of the initial bugs that electronics are notorious for have had a chance to be worked out, resulting in an often more reliable product than first gen experimental ones. This time tested unit is proof of this and, if its family tree isn’t enough to convince you, take a look at the one year warranty backing the MFC-8480DN and the maximum monthly duty cycle of 30,000 printed pages. Though Brother is a name often equated with value, this doesn’t necessarily mean a cheaply built product, and the durability of this model in particular easily matches that of the “higher end” brands.
But what good is an item that’s as sturdy as a rock if it performs like one? Relax, this isn’t the case with the MFC-8480DN. It brings on both print and copy speeds of 32 pages per minute, with a professional looking 1200 X 1200 dot per inch print quality. Not only that, but it comes complete with a fancy duplex printing capability, meaning this unit can print on both sides of the page automatically, whereas other units require you to attempt flipping each page manually. Also unlike some other units, unfortunately, is the lack of duplex scanning or faxing, as duplexing is strictly output only.
Price per page becomes more and more important relative to the initial cost of a multifunction center as higher and higher outputs are approached. The MFC-8480DN helps to shave costs with a small lineup of penny saving features, such as the Energy Star qualification which will slightly lower overall operating cost. The available high yield toner cartridge is capable of up to 8,000 pages of documents, and comes at a more economic cost per print than smaller cartridges. If the duplex feature is taken advantage of, then theoretically paper usage could be cut in half if used exclusively, though sometimes this cuts into the overall print speed.
Though this unit is network compatible, which is always critical when operating the unit with multiple users, the hardware comes complete with more than just an Ethernet port. There is also a parallel port and a USB port, and a second USB front interface. This secondary USB slot is not for computer connectivity however, it is designed to interpret data off a USB memory stick or other compatible memory device, and can extract file types of either PDF or JPEG directly into the MFC-8480DN for printing. It can also upload scanned images directly to the memory stick. This, on top of the PC independent fax and copy features, make the 8480DN a powerful stand alone unit.
Scanning is not limited to letter sized documents. The legal sized document glass and convenientflatbed design make it possible to scan a document up to legal size. The paper supply is fairly large as well, coming stock at 250 with a 50 sheet multi purpose tray, but expandable to 550 sheets total capacity. The Brother MFC-8480DN offers all you’d expect from a printer in the category, plus the reliability of a third gen machine.
