How to install and use scanner of all in one printer?
I have connected my HP all in one printer to my PC, How to use it further?
Step 1
A common USB cord used with scanners and other computer accesories. *NOTE* Your scanner may have come with a cord with identical ends, this is also fairly common.
Plug In The Cords
Turn your computer off before beginning. Some computers need to restart to recognize new hardware, so plugging your new scanner in while the computer is turned off should allow it to immediately identify the new hardware upon start up.
Plug the USB cord (see accompanying image)into one of the corresponding USB ports on your computer. For many desktop computers it is recommended that you use one of the ports found on the back of the tower. The USB ports are the thin rectangular ports found often near the base of the tower. Match up the other end of the cord to a port on your scanner (there is usually just one that will fit.) and plug it in. This port should be at the back of or on one side of your scanner.
Plug the power cord into your scanner (usually a small and round port on the scanner) then the other end into the wall.
Now you have your scanner plugged in. And you are ready for the actual installation.
Step 2
Turn on your computer and wait for it to fully start up and load all of its normal applications.
Step 3
From here there will be different steps for different scanners and computers. Choose the situation appropriate for you and follow the instructions for that one only.
*Note: "Wizard" refers to a program that will open up on your computer screen and will walk you through the install process. See the image that goes along with this step for an example of what the "wizard" will look like.
1) A "Wizard" pops up on the screen automatically prompting you to install your new hardware. GO TO STEP 4!
2) You have a disk that came with your scanner and a CD drive.
GO TO STEP 5!
3) You DO NOT have a disk or a CD drive and no "wizard" pops up for automatic install. GO TO STEP 6! (You will have to know what operating system you are running and which version it is.)
Step 4
A "Wizard" pops up on the screen automatically prompting you to install your new hardware.
- This means your scanner has internal software and there is no need to look for a disk to use your product.
- Follow the onscreen instructions (read and click the "next" button) until the "wizard" informs you that your installation was completed successfully and you are prompted to click "finish".
- This will have installed your scanner to your computer and probably have put an icon on your desk top that links to the programs that can be used with your scanner. You should be able to use your scanner now!
Step 5
You have a disk that came with your scanner and a CD drive.
- This means you need to use this disk to install the scanner.
- Insert the disk into your CD drive by pressing the eject button on the tower and placing your disk into the tray.
- After closing the tray the computer should automatically run the disk. After a short title screen it should show some options like "Install Software" , "About Us", "Tutorial", etc. These options will be different for each product. Click on the option that says "Install".
- Clicking the install option should bring up an installation wizard that you will be able to read, click "next" and finally "finish" when you are done. After this is completed you can use your scanner!

Windows Machine-
- After inserting the disk choose the start menu (The button in the lower left hand corner of your screen that says "Start" on most windows operating systems OR the round button in the lower left hand corner of the screen with 4 colored blocks on it for most VISTA systems.)
- Choose "My Computer" from the list and click on it.
- This screen should show you all the hard drives currently installed on your computer and multiple other things. Choose the icon that looks like a CD and should be labeled with name of the installation disk. Click on this.
- This will run the disk and after a short title screen should display a menu with several options. Choose the option that says "Install" and follow the on screen prompts to install your new scanner. After this wizard is complete there should be an icon on your desktop labeled with the name or brand of your scanner that opens the programs that run the scanner. You are now able to use your scanner.
MAC Computer
- A CD icon should now be on your desktop. Double click it to run the disk.
- After a short title screen should display a menu with several options. Choose the option that says "Install" and follow the on screen prompts to install your new scanner. After this wizard is complete there should be an icon on your desktop or in your "Applications" folder labeled with the name or brand of your scanner that opens the programs that run the scanner. This makes the first category of note the hand held category. Many of the different label printers available on the market today are of course hand held models and therefore when you look at the different label printers that are available, you can see right away that different label printers that are hand held have different purposes when it comes to the actual label printers themselves. Popularity in terms of label printers is defined by the quantity of them that get purchased in different stores and if you go by that strict definition then definitely hand held label printers are the most popular. The idea of hand held label printers is something that many people have gotten behind because of the ideas of cost efficiency, compactness, ease of transportation and functionality that go into the concept of hand held label printers.
When you look at the first of those ideas, the idea of cost efficiency, what is really being discussed there as it pertains to the label printers themselves is that you get far more than what you pay for when you invest in hand held label printers. Stationary Label Printers
Stationary label printers are the conventional label printers that have been available on the market for a very long time. When you look at it historically, stationary label printers have been far more popular than any other model but of course as hand held label printers become easier to purchase and cheaper to purchase, stationary label printers continue to lose more of the market share to their hand held counterparts. This is not necessarily because stationary label printers are not as good, but more so that the craze right now in business logistics is label printers that can be held by the hand. In any case, the stationary label printers that are available on the market today are label printers that offer reliability and economy; both of which are still treasured assets in different label printers.
As far as reliability goes, one of the major drawbacks to hand held label printers is that they don't really have as much reliability as stationary label printers. This is because hand held models are more compact and therefore are more prone to jamming if used incorrectly. The stationary label printers have mechanisms in place that can prevent jamming and this makes them more reliable in the overall sense of the term. There are some good points to be said for reliability and it is said by the people that still buy stationary products over hand held ones.
As far as economy goes, this actually ties into the fact that stationary label printers tend to be more reliable. When you are looking at things like ink and paper usage, while hand held label printers tend to use less of both than stationary ones, at the same time because of their habit of jamming when used incorrectly, an inexperienced worker might end up wasting more money with a hand held one than a stationary one.
