How do you connect fans to motherboard headers?
My motherboard is giving me trouble on connecting my system fans to itself. My power supply came with a cable which can either connect to the power supply or to one of the headers, which can then provide power to the fans via molex. (See below.)
However, the fans only work if I connect them to the power supply. I'd rather have them connected to the motherboard but they refuse to work when connected.
Any suggestions on how to get them working while attached to the motherboard?
Also, is there any way to reverse a fan's direction other than simply removing it and installing it backwards?

First we'll discuss the fans themselves. The case fans are designed to draw air from the bottom front, and discharge at the rear top. The purpose is for user comfort, as well as sending the higher heat generation from the CPU and PSU out quickly. Reversing may cause damage to other components. Remember that everything in the PC is DC current so to shange direction, you need to change the + and - of the supply, again not recommended.
Second, if the fans aren't working properly off the motherboard, it may be that you are connecting the PSU to the wrong connector on the MB. Most DC electronics are design to allow the voltage to flow in only one direction, to prevent damage to other parts. Hence you don't want a negative connection to interfere with the rest of the positive connections. It may be that the fan connector isn't even located anywhere near you would want a fan connected, and most are in the middle top of the MB as you are looking at it, and often times hidden behind other case parts or cables. Radio Leads For Alpine, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood and More
The radio leads are the key elements especially in the steering wheels where one can enable the controls easily with the help of radio leads. Though the products may be different the connecting features remains almost the same.
Alpine radio leads: -
The alpine leads are useful in recognizing the controls on the steering wheels. When you are using a PC99 X make sure that it requires PC99-ALP as an interface with the header unit. When you are installing this alpine radio follow these rules carefully
• See that that the twin orange wires of the link are coupled with each other
• Couple the alpine interface PC99-ALP with the PC99
• Later switch on the vehicle and header unit
• After that switch on the radio and select a desired frequency
• Next switch off the radio and eject the key and later plug in the jack
• The last step is test the radio leads with the help of a remote
Pioneer radio leads: -
When you are using the pioneer radio leads follow these points
• At first join the pioneer interface to PC99
• Next switch on the main loom into the header unit and vehicle
• Later switch on the radio by ignition and select a certain radio station
• Switch off the radio and plug in the jack
• Again switch on the radio by means of ignition and check the audio before making use of the remote control
JVC radio leads: -
The JVC radio leads connect the controls to the steering wheel and also support the remote control interface.
• At first see that the wires shouldn't be connected with each other.
• Join the interface to the series lead and plug in the main loom into the header unit and vehicle
• On the radio by ignition and again switch of by ignition
• Again plug in the jack and turn on the radio and test it with the help of remote control.
Kenwood radio leads: -
The Kenwood radio leads consists of a four pin socket in order to make the head unit compatible with the steering remote
• At first couple the interface to the series lead
• The main loom should be plugged in with the head unit and vehicle
• Switch on the radio and select a radio frequency
• Later Switch of the radio by means of ignition
• Connect the four pin plug to Din socket
• At last switch on again by means of ignition and test it with the remote control
Sony radio leads: -
Sony radio leads features mainly a joystick port and a stereo head phone to install into the socket. The installing of the Sony radio leads can be done by
• Couple the Sony interface along with series lead
• Later the main loom must be plugged in with vehicle and header unit
• On the radio by means of ignition and select a radio station
• Switch of the stereo and the jack must be plugged in
• Finally again switch on the ignition by means of ignition and wait for another 20 minutes and test it with the help of remote control.
