How do you, hook up a sata hard drive, from a ide computer?
I have a sata hard drive. I want to put it in my computer, but it only has ide cables. Please help me.
You need to either have a motherboard with one or more SATA ports or simply add a SATA port interface card to the PCI bus.
This means if your motherboard does not already have the SATA ports (all of the new ones do), you need to buy a SATA PCI card, plug it in and plug the drive cable into the card--Windows will do the rest.

Last week, I learn something new. Data Recovery services could be availed for Mac machines as well. Since the head ploughed deep into the platter, most of the damage occurred to the inner tracks, but that doesn't mean that the outer tracks were spared.
Many Mac users with firmware version 7.01 faced this problem. Though many hard drives were replaced, and refunding of the charges paid for repair had to be paid, but the damage that was done was unrepairable and non-returnable.
To effectively handle this case, the users were advised to immediately stop using the hard drive. This prevented the head to scratch the platter much, thus increasing the possibility of data recovery. The more the scratching, the lesser were the chances for recovery. Many lucky people found that all their data was recovered, thanks to the data recovery service. These services when opted should be from a reliable provider, who has experience in handling sensitive media and the data stored therein. In cases like this, the hard drive needs to be opened, and head needs to be replaced, or changed first, so a sterilized clean room with controlled environment should be available, so as to ensure that no dust or particle settles between the writing area, and the head.
