Is there free Wifi access in Toronto Pearson Airport?
I am going to pick up my friend from the Toronto Pearson Airport. I have a blackberry pearl 8120 with Wifi capabilities, and I'm wondering if I can just connect to the airport's wifi, so my friend can send me a message on the blackberry messenger when he lands. I'm from the US, and I don't want to incur even a single roaming charge on my phone, so that's why I'm asking if it's free to connect to the wifi at the airport.
Yes and no. I found reports of a someone who managed to find free wifi there, but it seems like the main network is a pay-per-use type.
It may just be easier for you to pay the roaming charges. The roaming data cost with Verizon wasn't bad at all. I only rang up like $5 or $10 in roaming data charges, over a day or two's usage.
Sorry I couldn't tell you how easy it is to find a free wifi network there. My first trip through there won't be until July. I know Halifax has it free. =P
