Why doesn't the buttons on my mouse work?
I am using IBM's Thinkpad. It also has a trackpad and trackpoint. Just the two buttons on the bottom does not work. And when I use the top buttons for left click or right click they aren't functioning right. When I left click it opens right clicks options.
I've tried that. It's working as left and right but it's only when i double click something it opens right click options. Still it doesn't solve my problem with the buttons not working at all on the bottom.
You probably need to adjust your mouse properties by going to Start > Control Panel and going to Mouse then go to the Buttons tab and there you should be able to adjust them. My guess is the left click has been changed to open the right click options, if you don't want to manually fuss with changing it, you can just click the "Restore Defaults" button at the bottom and all should be as it was.
Since your left click currently isn't working in order to open Mouse properties just left click on it (which is currently set as right click) and select Open.
Okay, if you have been using System Restore (even if you haven't Windows puts in some restore points for you) you can try restoring your PC to an earlier time before you started having this problem. If you recently updated the drivers that could very well be the problem (may not be but it could be) so either install the previous version of the driver or try using System Restore. See if any of that works.
