draw a Free Body Diagram of the light. since the light is in equilibrium, the sum of the forces should =0
T1+T2=W
where W is the weight of the light (mg)
you need to use the vertical components since the weight of the light is in the vertical direction and the horizontal forces of the tension in each rope would just cancel out each other. (if you don't have W, use that idea)
free body diagrams are your friends. if you do anything with physics, they help understanding the relationships
